Quran and disbelievers
Alif, Lam, Ra. These are the verses of the Book and a clear Quran.
Perhaps those who disbelieve will wish they had been Muslims.
Let them eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted by hope, for they will soon know.
And We did not destroy any city except that for it was a known decree.
No nation can advance its term nor delay it.
They said, O you upon whom the message has been sent down, indeed you are mad.
Why do you not bring us the angels if you are of the truthful?
We do not send down the angels except with the truth, and then they would not be reprieved.
Indeed, it is We who sent down the message, and indeed, We will be its guardian.
And We had certainly sent before you to the communities of the past.
And no messenger would come to them except that they ridiculed him.
Thus do We insert denial into the hearts of the criminals.
They do not believe in it, while the practice of the former peoples has already passed.
And if We opened for them a gate from the heaven and they continued ascending through it,
They would say, Our eyes have only been dazzled. Rather, we are a people affected by magic.
Signs of Allah's power in creation
We have placed constellations in the sky and adorned it for those who observe
And We have protected it from every cursed devil
Except one who steals a hearing, then a visible flame pursues him
And the earth We have spread out and placed on it firm mountains and caused to grow in it everything in balance
And We have made for you therein means of living and for those for whom you are not providers
And there is not a thing but that with Us are its stores and We do not send it down except in a known measure
And We have sent the fertilizing winds and sent down water from the sky and given you drink from it and you are not its keepers
And indeed it is We who give life and cause death and We are the inheritors
And We have certainly known the preceding among you and We have certainly known the later ones
And indeed your Lord will gather them all He is Wise Knowing
Creation of Adam and disobedience of Satan
We created man from dried clay formed from dark mud.
And We created the jinn before from scorching fire.
And when your Lord said to the angels, I am creating a human being from dried clay formed from dark mud.
So when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My spirit, then fall down to him in prostration.
So the angels prostrated, all of them together.
Except Iblis. He refused to be with those who prostrated.
God said, O Iblis, what is wrong with you that you are not with those who prostrated?
He said, I am not one to prostrate to a human whom You created from dried clay formed from dark mud.
God said, Then get out of it, for you are expelled.
And upon you is the curse until the Day of Judgment.
He said, My Lord, then give me respite until the Day they are resurrected.
God said, Then you are of those given respite.
Until the Day of the appointed time.
He said, My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make disobedience attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all.
Except Your chosen servants among them.
God said, This is a path to Me, straight.
Indeed, My servants, you have no authority over them, except those who follow you of the deviators.
And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all.
It has seven gates, for every gate is an assigned portion of them.
Rewards for the righteous and punishment for wrongdoers
Indeed, the righteous will be amid gardens and springs
Enter it in peace and security
And We will remove whatever is in their hearts of resentment, as brothers on thrones facing each other
No fatigue will touch them therein, nor from it will they ever be removed
Inform My servants that I am the Forgiving, the Merciful
And that My punishment is the painful punishment
Story of Abraham's guests
Tell them about the guests of Abraham
When they entered upon him and said Peace he said We are afraid of you
They said Do not be afraid We bring you good news of a knowledgeable son
He said Do you give me good news when old age has touched me So what do you bring as good news
They said We bring you good news in truth so do not be of the despairing
He said And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except those who are astray
He said What is your mission O messengers
They said We have been sent to a criminal people
Except the family of Lot We will surely save them all
Except his wife We have decreed that she will be of those who remain behind
So when the messengers came to the family of Lot
He said Indeed you are unfamiliar people
They said But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing
And we have come to you with truth and indeed we are truthful
So travel with your family in a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and go on to where you are commanded
And We conveyed to him this decree that the root of those people would be cut off by early morning
And the people of the city came rejoicing
He said These are my guests so do not shame me
And fear God and do not disgrace me
They said Did we not forbid you from protecting people
He said These are my daughters if you must act
By your life they were in their intoxication wandering blindly
So the awful cry seized them at sunrise
And We turned it upside down and rained upon them stones of baked clay
Indeed in that are signs for those who discern
And indeed it is on an established road
Indeed in that is a sign for the believers
Story of the people of Aikah
And the people of the forest were indeed wrongdoers
So We took retribution from them and indeed they were both on a clear road
And certainly the companions of the stone city denied the messengers
And We gave them Our signs but they were turning away from them
And they used to carve from the mountains houses feeling secure
But the blast seized them in the morning
So did not avail them what they used to earn
Reassurance to the Prophet and final instructions
We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them except with truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming, so forgive with gracious forgiveness.
Indeed, your Lord is the Creator, the Knowing.
And We have certainly given you seven of the often repeated and the great Quran.
Do not extend your eyes toward what We have given for enjoyment to categories of them, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers.
And say, Indeed, I am the clear warner.
As We sent down upon the dividers.
Who have made the Quran into parts.
So by your Lord, We will surely question them all.
About what they used to do.
So declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists.
Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers.
Who make with God another deity. But they are going to know.
And We already know that your chest is constrained by what they say.
So exalt with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate.
And worship your Lord until certainty comes to you.
