Signs of Allah's Power and Wisdom

Ha Mim

The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise

Indeed, in the heavens and earth are signs for the believers

And in your creation and what He disperses of moving creatures are signs for people who are certain

And the alternation of night and day and what Allah sends down from the sky of provision and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and directing of the winds are signs for a people who reason

These are the verses of Allah which We recite to you in truth. Then in what statement after Allah and His verses will they believe

Warning Against Disbelief and Arrogance

Woe to every sinful liar

Who hears the verses of Allah recited to him, then persists arrogantly as if he had not heard them. So give him tidings of a painful punishment

And when he learns anything of Our verses, he takes them in mockery. Those will have a humiliating punishment

Before them is Hell, and what they have earned will not avail them at all nor what they had taken as protectors besides Allah. And they will have a great punishment

This is guidance. And those who disbelieve in the verses of their Lord will have a painful punishment of foul nature

God's Blessings and Human Responsibility

God has subjected the sea to you so that ships may sail upon it by His command and that you may seek His bounty and perhaps you will be grateful

And He has subjected to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth all from Him. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought

Tell those who believe to forgive those who do not expect the days of God so that He may recompense people for what they used to earn

Whoever does a good deed it is for himself and whoever does evil it is against himself. Then to your Lord you will be returned

Guidance Given to Children of Israel

We gave the Children of Israel the Book, wisdom, and prophethood. We provided them with good things and favored them above all others.

And We gave them clear proofs of the matter. They did not differ except after knowledge came to them, out of envy among themselves. Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.

Following True Guidance vs. Personal Desires

Then We placed you on a clear path in the matter. So follow it and do not follow the desires of those who do not know.

Indeed, they will never avail you against God at all. And indeed, the wrongdoers are allies of one another, while God is the ally of the righteous.

This is enlightenment for mankind, and guidance and mercy for people who are certain.

Equality of Believers and Wrongdoers

Do those who commit evil deeds think We will make them equal to those who believe and do righteous deeds in their life and death? How badly they judge!

God created the heavens and the earth with truth, so that every soul may be rewarded for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.

Misguided Beliefs About Life and Death

Have you seen the one who takes his desire as his god, and God knowingly leads him astray, and seals his hearing and his heart, and puts a cover on his sight? Who then will guide him after God? Will you not then remember?

And they say: There is nothing but our worldly life. We die and we live, and nothing destroys us except time. They have no knowledge of that. They only speculate.

And when Our clear verses are recited to them, their only argument is that they say: Bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful.

Say: God gives you life, then causes you to die, then He will gather you on the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt. But most people do not know.

God's Sovereignty and the Day of Judgment

To God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And on the Day when the Hour is established, on that Day the falsifiers will lose.

And you will see every nation kneeling. Every nation will be called to its record. Today you will be recompensed for what you used to do.

This is Our record speaking about you in truth. Indeed, We were recording what you used to do.

So as for those who believed and did righteous deeds, their Lord will admit them into His mercy. That is the clear triumph.

But as for those who disbelieved, Were not My verses recited to you, but you were arrogant and became a criminal people?

And when it was said, Indeed, the promise of God is truth and the Hour there is no doubt about it, you said, We do not know what the Hour is. We only assume speculation, and we are not convinced.

And the evil consequences of what they did will appear to them, and they will be enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

And it will be said, Today We will forget you as you forgot the meeting of this Day of yours, and your refuge is the Fire, and for you there are no helpers.

That is because you took the verses of God in ridicule, and worldly life deceived you. So today they will not be removed from it, nor will they be asked to appease.

Then, to God belongs all praise, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the worlds.

And to Him belongs grandeur in the heavens and the earth, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
