God's Sovereignty and Creation
1 All that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth glorifies God. To Him belongs the dominion, and to Him belongs all praise, and He has power over everything.
2 It is He who created you, then among you is the disbeliever and among you is the believer. And God sees what you do.
3 He created the heavens and the earth in truth, and He shaped you and made your shapes excellent, and to Him is the final return.
4 He knows what is in the heavens and the earth, and He knows what you conceal and what you reveal. And God knows what is in the hearts.
Disbelievers and Their Fate
5 Has not the news reached you of those who disbelieved before? So they tasted the bad consequence of their affair, and they will have a painful punishment.
6 That is because their messengers came to them with clear proofs, but they said, Shall human beings guide us? So they disbelieved and turned away. And Allah is free of need. And Allah is Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy.
7 Those who disbelieve claim that they will never be resurrected. Say, Yes, by my Lord, you will surely be resurrected; then you will surely be informed of what you did. And that, for Allah, is easy.
8 So believe in Allah and His Messenger and the light which We have sent down. And Allah is Aware of what you do.
9 The Day He will assemble you for the Day of Assembly - that is the Day of Loss and Gain. And whoever believes in Allah and does righteousness - He will remove from him his misdeeds and admit him to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great success.
10 But those who disbelieved and denied Our verses - those are the companions of the Fire, abiding eternally therein; and wretched is the destination.
Obedience to God and His Messenger
11 No disaster strikes except by permission of God. And whoever believes in God, He will guide his heart. And God is Knowing of all things.
12 And obey God and obey the Messenger, but if you turn away then upon Our Messenger is only clear delivery.
13 God, there is no god except Him. And upon God let the believers rely.
Warning About Worldly Distractions
14 O you who believe, some of your spouses and children are enemies to you, so beware of them. But if you pardon, overlook and forgive, then God is Forgiving, Merciful.
15 Your wealth and your children are only a test, and with God is a great reward.
Encouragement for Charity and Good Deeds
16 So fear God as much as you can, and listen, and obey, and spend for your own good. Those who are saved from their own greed are the successful ones.
17 If you lend God a good loan, He will multiply it for you and forgive you. God is Appreciative, Forbearing.
18 Knower of the unseen and the seen, the Almighty, the Wise.
