Clear Victory and Forgiveness

Indeed, We have given you a clear victory

That God may forgive for you what preceded of your sin and what will follow and complete His favor upon you and guide you to a straight path

And God may aid you with a mighty aid

Strengthening Faith and Divine Armies

He is the One who sent down tranquility into the hearts of the believers to increase their faith along with their faith. And to God belong the armies of the heavens and the earth, and God is Knowing and Wise.

That He may admit the believing men and the believing women into gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide therein forever and remove from them their misdeeds. And that is, in the sight of God, a great triumph.

And that He may punish the hypocrite men and hypocrite women, and the polytheist men and polytheist women, who assume about God an assumption of evil. Upon them is a misfortune of evil, and God has become angry with them and has cursed them and prepared for them Hell, and evil it is as a destination.

And to God belong the armies of the heavens and the earth. And ever is God Exalted in Might and Wise.

Messenger's Role and Allegiance

Indeed, We have sent you as a witness and a bearer of good news and a warner

That you may believe in Allah and His Messenger and support him and honor him and exalt Him morning and evening

Indeed, those who pledge allegiance to you, they are pledging allegiance to Allah. The hand of Allah is over their hands. So whoever breaks his oath only breaks it to his own harm, and whoever fulfills what he has promised Allah, He will give him a great reward

Excuses of Those Who Stayed Behind

Those left behind from the Bedouins will say to you We were busy with our properties and families so ask forgiveness for us They say with their tongues what is not in their hearts Say Who can control anything for you from God if He intends harm for you or if He intends benefit for you Rather God is aware of what you do

But you thought that the Messenger and the believers would never return to their families and that was made attractive in your hearts And you assumed an evil assumption and you were a ruined people

And whoever does not believe in God and His Messenger then We have prepared for the disbelievers a blazing Fire

And to God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills And God is Forgiving and Merciful

Those who remained behind will say when you set out toward the war booty to take it Let us follow you They wish to change the words of God Say You will never follow us Thus did God say before So they will say Rather you envy us But they do not understand except a little

Say to those who remained behind of the Bedouins You will be called to fight against a people of great might you fight them or they submit Then if you obey God will give you a good reward but if you turn away as you turned away before He will punish you with a painful punishment

There is not upon the blind any guilt or upon the lame any guilt or upon the ill any guilt And whoever obeys God and His Messenger He will admit him to gardens beneath which rivers flow but whoever turns away He will punish him with a painful punishment

Tree of Allegiance and Its Rewards

God was pleased with the believers when they pledged allegiance to you under the tree. He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquility upon them and rewarded them with an imminent victory

And abundant spoils that they will take. And God is Mighty, Wise

God has promised you abundant spoils that you will take, and He has hastened this for you and withheld the hands of people from you that it may be a sign for the believers and He may guide you to a straight path

And other gains which you have not yet been able to achieve but God has encompassed them. And God is over all things capable

God's Support and Enemy's Retreat

If the disbelievers had fought you, they would have turned their backs and fled, then they would not have found any protector or helper.

This is God's way which has been in effect before. And you will never find any change in God's way.

And He is the One who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them in the valley of Mecca, after He had given you victory over them. And God is All-Seeing of what you do.

They are the ones who disbelieved and prevented you from the Sacred Mosque and the sacrificial animals from reaching their place of sacrifice. And if it were not for believing men and believing women whom you did not know, that you might trample them and thus incur guilt unknowingly, We would have permitted you to enter Mecca. This was so that God may admit to His mercy whom He wills. If they had been apart, We would have punished those who disbelieved among them with a painful punishment.

Entering Mecca and Spread of Islam

When those who disbelieved placed in their hearts fury, the fury of ignorance, then God sent down His tranquility upon His Messenger and upon the believers and made them adhere to the word of righteousness, and they were more deserving of it and worthy of it. And God is Knowing of all things.

God has fulfilled His Messenger's vision in truth. You will enter the Sacred Mosque, if God wills, secure, with your heads shaved and hair shortened, not fearing. He knew what you did not know and has arranged before that a near victory.

It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion. And sufficient is God as Witness.

Muhammad is the Messenger of God. And those with him are firm against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating, seeking bounty from God and approval. Their mark is on their faces from the trace of prostration. That is their description in the Torah. And their description in the Gospel is as a plant which produces its offshoots and strengthens them so they grow firm and stand upon their stalks, delighting the sowers so that God may enrage by them the disbelievers. God has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds among them forgiveness and a great reward.
