Jinn listening to the Quran

1 Say: It has been revealed to me that a group of jinn listened and said: Indeed, we have heard an amazing Quran

2 It guides to the right course, so we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone

Jinn's beliefs and practices

3 And that He, exalted be the majesty of our Lord, has not taken a wife or a son

4 And that the foolish among us used to speak about God in an unjust manner

5 And that we thought that humans and jinn would never speak a lie about God

6 And that there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they increased them in burden

7 And that they thought, as you thought, that God would never send anyone

Jinn's attempt to eavesdrop on heaven

8 We sought to reach the heaven but found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires

9 We used to sit there in positions for listening but whoever listens now will find a flaming fire waiting for him

10 And we do not know whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Lord intends for them guidance

Diversity among jinn

11 And among us are the righteous and among us are those below that. We have been of different ways.

12 And we have become certain that we will never escape God on earth, nor can we escape Him by flight.

13 And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden.

14 And among us are Muslims and among us are the unjust. And whoever has submitted, those have sought right direction.

15 And as for the unjust, they will be firewood for Hell.

Consequences of following or rejecting guidance

16 If they had remained on the right path, We would have given them abundant water to drink

17 To test them with it. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will put him into an increasingly difficult punishment

Worship and devotion to God

18 The places of worship belong to God, so do not call upon anyone with God.

19 When the servant of God stood up to call upon Him, they almost swarmed upon him.

20 Say, I only call upon my Lord, and I do not associate anyone with Him.

Prophet's limited power and divine protection

21 Say I do not possess power to harm you or bring you to right conduct

22 Say No one can protect me from God and I will never find refuge except in Him

23 Only to convey from God and His messages and whoever disobeys God and His Messenger will have the fire of Hell abiding eternally therein

Day of Judgment and divine knowledge

24 Until when they see what they are promised, they will know who is weaker in helpers and fewer in number.

25 Say I do not know if what you are promised is near or if my Lord will extend it for a term.

26 Knower of the unseen, and He does not reveal His unseen to anyone.

27 Except whom He has approved of messengers, and indeed He makes a guard to march before him and behind him.

28 That he may know that they have conveyed the messages of their Lord, and He has encompassed what is with them and has enumerated all things in number.
