Divine Revelation and Allah's Attributes
Ha Mim
Ain Sin Qaf
Thus He reveals to you and to those before you, God, the Mighty, the Wise
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and He is the High, the Great
The heavens almost break from above them, and the angels glorify with praise of their Lord and ask forgiveness for those on earth. Surely, God is the Forgiving, the Merciful
And those who take protectors besides Him, God is Guardian over them, and you are not a guardian over them
The Prophet's Role and Universal Message
Thus We have revealed to you an Arabic Quran so you may warn the mother of cities and those around it and warn of the Day of Assembly about which there is no doubt. A group will be in Paradise and a group in the Blaze.
If God had willed He could have made them one community but He admits whom He wills into His mercy. And the wrongdoers have no protector or helper.
Or have they taken protectors besides Him? But God is the Protector and He gives life to the dead and He is powerful over all things.
Allah's Sovereignty and Judgment
Whatever you differ in, its judgment is with Allah. That is Allah, my Lord, upon Him I rely, and to Him I turn.
Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you mates from among yourselves, and mates among the cattle. He multiplies you thereby. There is nothing like Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.
To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. He extends provision for whom He wills and restricts. Indeed He is Knowing of all things.
Unity of Religion and Avoiding Division
He has ordained for you of religion what He enjoined upon Noah and that which We have revealed to you and what We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus to establish the religion and not be divided therein. Difficult for the polytheists is that to which you invite them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back.
And they did not become divided until after knowledge came to them out of jealousy between themselves. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord for a specified term, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed, those who were granted inheritance of the Scripture after them are in disquieting doubt concerning it.
So to that invite, and remain on a right course as you are commanded and do not follow their desires but say, I have believed in what Allah has revealed of the Scripture and I have been commanded to do justice among you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord. For us are our deeds, and for you your deeds. There is no argument between us and you. Allah will bring us together, and to Him is the final destination.
Debate with Disbelievers and the Day of Judgment
Those who argue about God after He has been accepted, their argument is invalid with their Lord, and upon them is wrath, and for them is a severe punishment.
God is the one who sent down the Book in truth and the balance. And what can make you know? Perhaps the Hour is near.
Those who do not believe in it seek to hasten it, while those who believe are fearful of it and know that it is the truth. Unquestionably, those who dispute concerning the Hour are in extreme error.
God is Subtle with His servants; He provides for whom He wills. And He is the Strong, the Mighty.
Whoever desires the harvest of the Hereafter, We increase for him in his harvest. And whoever desires the harvest of this world, We give him thereof, but there is not for him in the Hereafter any share.
Rewards and Punishments in the Afterlife
Do they have partners who have established for them a religion which God has not permitted? Had it not been for the decisive word, judgment would have been passed between them. Indeed, the wrongdoers will have a painful punishment.
You will see the wrongdoers fearful of what they have earned, and it will befall them. And those who believe and do good deeds will be in the meadows of the gardens. They will have whatever they wish from their Lord. That is the great bounty.
That is what God gives as good news to His servants who believe and do good deeds. Say, I do not ask you for any payment for this except love for those close to me. And whoever earns a good deed, We will increase its goodness for him. Indeed, God is Forgiving and Appreciative.
Or do they say, He has invented a lie about God? But if God willed, He could seal your heart. And God erases falsehood and establishes the truth by His words. Indeed, He knows what is in the hearts.
And it is He who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons misdeeds and knows what you do.
And He responds to those who believe and do good deeds and increases them from His bounty. And the disbelievers will have a severe punishment.
Allah's Wisdom in Provision and Natural Signs
If Allah were to extend provision for His servants, they would rebel in the land. But He sends down in measure what He wills. Indeed, He is Aware and Seeing of His servants.
And it is He who sends down the rain after they have despaired and spreads His mercy. And He is the Protector, the Praiseworthy.
And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and what He has dispersed throughout them of creatures. And He is able to gather them when He wills.
And whatever strikes you of disaster it is for what your hands have earned. But He pardons much.
And you are not able to escape on earth, and you have not besides Allah any protector or helper.
And of His signs are the ships in the sea, like mountains.
Allah's Power Over Nature and Human Affairs
If He wills, He can calm the wind, leaving ships motionless on the surface of the sea. Indeed, in this are signs for every patient and grateful person.
Or He could destroy them for what they have earned, but He pardons much.
And those who argue about Our signs may know that they have no place of escape.
Characteristics of Believers and Their Rewards
Whatever you have been given is but a temporary enjoyment of this worldly life. But what is with God is better and more lasting for those who believe and trust in their Lord
And those who avoid major sins and indecencies, and when they are angry, they forgive
And those who respond to their Lord and establish prayer and conduct their affairs by mutual consultation, and spend from what We have provided them
And those who, when tyranny strikes them, they defend themselves
The recompense for an evil is an evil like it, but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation, his reward is with God. Indeed, He does not like wrongdoers
And whoever defends himself after being wronged, those have no blame against them
The blame is only against those who wrong the people and tyrannize upon the earth without right. Those will have a painful punishment
And whoever is patient and forgives, indeed, that is of the matters requiring determination
Consequences of Wrongdoing and Allah's Guidance
Whoever Allah leaves astray will have no protector after Him. You will see the wrongdoers when they face the punishment saying Is there any way to return?
You will see them exposed to it humbled by disgrace looking with a stealthy glance. Those who believed will say The losers are those who lost themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed the wrongdoers are in lasting punishment.
They will have no allies to help them against Allah. Whoever Allah leaves astray there is no way for him.
Respond to your Lord before a Day comes from Allah which cannot be averted. You will have no refuge on that Day nor any denial.
But if they turn away We have not sent you as a guardian over them. Your duty is only to convey. Indeed when We let man taste mercy from Us he rejoices in it. But if evil befalls them for what their hands have done then indeed man is ungrateful.
Allah's Will in Creation and Communication
To Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He wills. He grants females to whom He wills and grants males to whom He wills.
Or He pairs them males and females, and He makes whom He wills barren. Indeed, He is Knowing and Capable.
It is not for any human that Allah should speak to him except by revelation or from behind a veil or by sending a messenger to reveal by His permission what He wills. Indeed, He is Most High and Wise.
And thus We have revealed to you an inspiration of Our command. You did not know what is the Book or faith, but We have made it a light by which We guide whom We will of Our servants. And indeed, you guide to a straight path.
The path of Allah, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Unquestionably, to Allah do all matters return.
